redline isn't a norcotic, is it? I drank a bottle of that **** and I didn't go to sleep, it kinda sucked, cause by about 12:00pm the next day I was a little drowzy, by about 5:00 I was wide awake again...weird...um, excercise right when you wake up seems to work for some people, an alarm clock with a loud and jaring alarm on it, sometimes I have people call me on the phone to make sure I'm up if I need to be somewhere....I don't know...

Do this on the weekend.

Wake up for school on Friday and stay awake all day and don't go to sleep Friday night. Stay awake until the time you want to be going to bed on Saturday night (should be the time you want to be going to sleep every night). Your body will start getting tired at that time. You will be able to stay awake during the day.

I had a similar problem. I used to sleep all through the morning through school and wake up at like 1. A neuro-psychologist told me to try this.

Well I walk to school, and i am usally wake when i am walking, but once i get insde that class room and just sit still in a desk for 52 minutes litening to some lady talk about something i have no desire in makes it really hard to stay away. Same goes for all my classes

Usally after 3rd period i am awake but i need something to get me away and keep me away all day.

Is it true if i drink enough coffee I will be wide away? I mean i drink coffee some mornings but nothing to where i dont feel sleepy

if you're getting 9 hours of sleep you should not be having this problem.
try going to bed around 8pm and see how early you wake up compared to the other times you've waken up.

to me the answer is simple ... you have to get more sleep

^ no, monster tastes like sweet tarts...liquid sweet tarts.........

Monster tastes like crap. Still, it would be best to chug the can, and possibly get an alarm clock that plays your favorite song (Helps if you like extreme metal). And no, I don't remember where to get those. My roomie had one, and I never bothered to ask.

I used to have 8 alarm clocks that all went off at the same time. I hid them around the room and had to turn them all off before my brother woke up. That'll get you going.

If it's in the room...don't wear any jackets. Try to keep cool, even cold. It helps you stay awake more. (I had the same problem in high school) Blink often, too.
Nope, no sig here.

Eh...I prefer my room to be a bit chilly. The cold air reminds me of when I used to live in the country.

i don't think you should drink all that energy drinks or coffee...

do you sleep well at night? if you don't then maybe you should drink a glass of warm milk before sleeping, that'll probably help.

oh and, do a little simple exercise immediately after you wake up

But in all seriousness.. If it's possible, get a sleep study done. Because a lot of the reasons why people don't feel rested no matter how much they sleep is because their body remains active. For example, you may kick your legs while you're asleep. Or, you could roll around a lot.

And besides, sleep studies are ****ing awesome. It's like staying a hotel, but the sheets aren't covered in semen, and they hook you up to all kinds of machines, it's like you're in some kinda futuristic anime or something. Then they monitor you all night. And if you masturbate.. The techs HAVE to watch.

don't sleep for a few days before a weekend, then sleep for like 14 hours on a saturday it will either reset your schedule or make you an insomniac

Um i'd say you probably need to eat better, lower GI foods, porridge, muesli and fruit and such. High sugar and junk foods will boost your blood sugar briefly and then be gone by about 10 if you eat around 8. I dont actually eat breakfast i just boost on coffee or caffeine pills if i cant be ****ed making any and head out. But my advice is good even if i dont heed it.

To give you a proper suggestion try the body clock alarm clock. It simulates sunrise and sunset put it on 30 mins before bed and it comes on 30 mins before you wake up. Getting gradually lighter in your bedroom until it is fully bright. Helps get you into a sleeping pattern.

http://www.lumie.com/shop/products/dawn-simulators

Eat breakfast... proper like scrambled eggs on toast, do some excercise at lunch time, take a multi vitamin, you may be laking in B vitamins.
Eat every 3 hours, complex carbs (rice sweet potato, oatmeal, wholmeal bread) and protein.

Also a herbal supplement called Ashwagandha or Indian ginseng is great for energy.

Hope this helps if none of this works go and see your doctor, you may have a thyroid problem

Don't sit beside radiators, heat makes you sleepy. Used to have that problem all the time. Failing that - pliers + balls = awake

i'd say your guitar is out of tune, or you are accidentally muting strings that you aren't trying to, or your right hand isn't strumming at the same time that your left hand is fretting, or you could be reading the tab upside down...

Well I have to leave for work at 6AM knowing I could have 11 or 12 hours ahead of me of a job I hate.

What helps me wake up is knowing that if I don't go to work I'll get fired, and that if I get fired I'll have no money, and if I have no money I won't be able to pay my bills, which will mean I'll have no food, get evicted, my phone will be cut off and my car will be repossessed. Kinda gives me that extra motivation in the morning.

Get an alarm that can play the radio. Set the radio insanely loud, and hope that when it goes off, it's a song that you like (unless you have an iHome, then set it to play your favorite band, ect.), that always seems to wake me up (even though good radio music is basically nonexistant).

Then, turn your lights on (ldarkness = sleep), take a cold shower, eat oatmeal or eggs for breakfast, and you should be ready to go.

Maybe you should try a wake up light? http://www.wakeuplight.philips.co.uk/
I've heard alot of positive things about it on another forum I vist and I might try it too.

The good thing about it is you wake up slowly because of the light and the sounds (there are 3 different sounds, like birds for example)
#34
Yes that is quite a pickle you're in.

Well you have two options. You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

I get this problem too. Also, after I come home, I go to sleep for like two or three hours - is this bad? I find I can't get to sleep too well on the night if I do that. Do you suggest staying awake all of friday like Fingerboy said?
#39
1. use cellphone and instal alert
2. throw cellphone away as far as possible

--> couple of hours later

3. wake up thanks to irritating tone
4. go find irritating tone

everyone gets more tired this time of year. seriously, the only things which will help are making sure you eat and drink right, and going to bed earlier. i'm sure exercise helps, but this is the internet, we all know none of us really exercises

if you're feeling sleepy in class, try sipping water (if you're allowed a drink) or coke or something, or do something to occupy yourself (ie, ignore the boringness of your teacher, seeing as you're not learning while you're half asleep anyway, and draw a picture or read a magazine or text someone or something. i know it's not the best way to learn anything, but it's the only thing that kept me awake in biology at school).
