I need some new music to listen to, so what are some punk bands that lean towards rock n' roll?

Kind of like the New York Dolls or Radio Birdman.

My style is impetuous.
My defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious.
I want your heart.
I want to eat your children.

red invasion, exploding hearts, d generation, beat beat beat, heart attacks, soda pop kids
And clenching your fist for the ones like us
Who are oppressed by the figures of beauty,
You fixed yourself, you said, "Well, never mind,
We are ugly, but we have the music."

I'm not a punk rock hero and you're no fairy princess, just 'cause you're beautiful and I've got a stupid haircut.

ACO and the Kings of Nuthin' are amazing.

The Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers. You probably know that already, though.

Social Distortion is Rock 'n' Rolly, and I like their sound (guitar tone, etc.) but all their songs sound the same to me. I just listened to some of their songs on Youtube and if I remember correctly, 3 out of 4 of them used a I-V-IV progression with similar melodies. The other was I-IV-V.

I don't know what band you're listening to, but Social Distortion's songs hardly ever sound the same. A few of the filler tracks off their cds have a similar sound, but not often.

Yeah dood. I agree. Their bassists brother is my acquaintance / friend

After thought: He's also in a pretty good rock n' roll / hard rock punk band. They're called the Living Wrecks, and they're from Baltimore Maryland. The Fishnet Stalkers are also pretty good.
