Hi guys, i do not have the money to afford a BKP's pickups. So i seek an alternative for them. Many recommend SD's pickup but to my ears it doesn't sound nice for me ( maybe its my taste :P ) I've look at BG pickups and i kind of like it except that it is too clear for me.

Anyone have an alternative for the sound of Mother's Milk? I would buy it if i have the money but i am just a student earning money as part timer

Check out some sound clips of Swineshead, Rio Grande, and Kent Armstrong pickups. All really nice, all much cheaper than BKP's...not to say that the BKP's aren't worth it though. Also, can't go wrong with a cheap set of GFS (Guitar Fetish) pickups, especially to tide you over 'til you get some BKP's.
I am hopeful for you.

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.
