Theres 2 big screws on the whammy end of the floyd, screw them in the direction you wish to change the action.

That is the correct procedure for changing the action. However, you wanna pay attention to the fact that you might have your intonation changed by this, as well, so make sure you do it step-by-step, so you get everything right. Tightening the screws will lower the action, but don't have the strings tuned and ready when you do this, as there's a risk of too much tension, causing the strings to break(we wouldn't want that, would we?). Although, most guitars that are delivered with a Floyd Rose are typically speed-built ones with low factory action. All of my Floyds have been, so far, anyhow.

^The added pull on the strings is nowhere near enough to snap them (unless you want it lowered a couple of inches, which you won't).
