Are they another Isis wannabe band?

I would say they were an Isis/Meshuggah wannabe band , well, not wannabe as they manage to do it well

But, they have moved away from their older sound a fair bit on their newest record.

Ordered Precambian last night after scanning this thread. What can I expect in terms of awesome?

I've listened to the occasional song, but can't remember which albums they were on. Will get Precambrian.

Bump

Just got Heliocentric

Precambrian was on of my favorite albums of 2007 seems they have gone a different directions with their vocals on Heliocentric.

Sorry for the bump, but i'm trying to cover the album Fogdiver. Anyone know what tuning they're using?

Horrid vocals and boring music that almost put me to sleep. Nothing impressive here.

04. For He That Wavereth…

This band never managed to grab my interest at all, I found Heliocentric to be boring and Precambrian a mix of better bands.

Yeah, I haven't been able to Heliocentric, and I love Precambrian.

It just feels like Heliocentric moves like a slug across sandpaper in 4G gravity. I swore it took 11 minutes to finish "Ptolemy Was Wrong".

I don't know, it seems to be well written, and it all melds together, but it just moves SOOOOOOOO slowly.

I'll give it another chance soon, but it hasn't really hit me yet.

Can't wait until this comes out. I've gotten used to their new vocalist and since this is a second part of the same album it' just doesnt feel complete until I've listened to this as well.

I gave Heliocentric another listen today. I like it way more than I did on my first listen, still a little too much singing though.

Anyways, here's another new song from Anthropocentric:

New album is terrible. Saw them supporting Dillinger and they were terrible, compared to seeing them supporting Opeth and loving them. It seemed like a completely different band.

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.

Hey when you guys are saying Anthropocentric do you mean the actual song or the album?
My setup:

Fender Telecaster Blacktop
Epiphone Les Paul Negative
VOX Valvetronix VT-30
Fulltone OCD
Boss FZ-5

They're both good albums, but I could easily say Heliocentric is their worst followed by Anthropocentric. Precambrian and Aeolian both crush. I'm omitting Fluxion because I've only heard it once, but it was pretty solid from what I remember. I like the old vocal(ists) a lot more than the new guy, though he did improve from album to album.
#116
New album slays. Not a world breaker, but still class music from start to finish.
Oh, and,

Precambrian > Anthropocentric > Aeolian > Fluxion > Heliocentric
IMO, of course.

IMO, Precambian > Aeolian > Anthropocentric > Heilocentric > the rest
"We carry death out of the village!"
