Hey guys,

What are some really good songs that are played with 2 guitars in harmony, kinda dueling each other.

I am probably gonna get flamed for this but, I really like a lot of A7X's stuff because of the dueling guitars. I like the parts that are in harmony, and one person is like an octave lower.

What are some really good songs with 2 "dueling" guitars???

It's not on any albums (that I'm aware of), but...

There's a 'Trivium vs. Bullet For My Valentine' .mp3 going around the net.

Actually, I think the guy who made it has it on Youtube.

Pisses me off, is that he cut out the harmony to A Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation, and part of the Like Light To The Flies (I think, it's been awhile) Solo.

Anyhow, check out the guitar harmony after the solo in Trivium's 'A Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation', decent fun to mess with.

Also SOME Sinergy has it.

Alexi Laiho/Roope Latvala from CoB are in Sinergy FYI, and it's alot better than the some stuff on AYDY.

Might wanna check it out.

The Devil Went Down To Georgia!!!!

There's a good bit of Metallica stuff. Also, stuff from Megadeth's newest album has a lot of switch-off/duel things. And Cacophony has great duel type things, but they're stuff is pretty advanced shred stuff.
Bands to see before I die:
Iron Maiden
Foo Fighters
Megadeth
Reel Big Fish
Rush
Streetlight Manifesto

Gear:
Epi LP Standard
Washburn Strat
Line 6 Spider (Yes, I know it's bad)

GAS:
Ibanez RG3570Z

The Final Cut by Coheed and Cambria. It was amazing when they did it live.

Almost forgot something:

If you're into the faster more 'shredding' harmonies...

The intro guitar harmony to Only Ash Remains by Necrophagist is pretty good.

The Welcome Home solo by Coheed And Cambria is pretty bad ass

EDIT: damn beaten to it, +1 to the guy who said it first

Welcome Home's so much fun, my band actually is gonna cover it in an upcoming gig. Me and the other guitarist actually made our own parts for that duel and we're not playing them in front of each other until the gig

Try Lonely Day by System of a Down. There's two solo's happening simultaneously (sp?) towards the end of the song.

Everyone that said Iron Maiden, HELL YES!

A good dueling solo is one from Roadrunner United called In The Fire. Vocals are a bit dodgy but the solo is killer.

Definitely Between The Buried and me on the album Alaska and Colors. Selkies, White Walls, Prequel to the Sequel, lots. Those 2 cds describe some very well.

That's not really a dueling song... the only part Padge plays is pretty much the same riff as Matt.

Hangar 18 by Megadeth is good. I don't really know the members as I'm just starting to listen to them, but they switch and each take a solo which is kind of cool.

Racer X hands down. Try scarified, or the tapping solo in "heart of a lion"

Considering that Scarified is played with one guitar... and the TS wants duelling GUITAR solos... and the fact that quite a few of the Scarified solos are on bass, Scarified probably isn't the best recommendation.

EDIT: Technical Difficulties by Racer X, however, has a dual guitar line.
