so, i just got a schecter c1-fr a few days ago, and its my first guitar with a floyd rose, and ive noticed, that when using it, sometimes the other strings tend to ring out a little, am i just doing something wrong? or do i just need to get used to it and mute them?

YOu just have to get used to it unless you stuff a bunch of tissue paper into the tremolo cavity.

I've seen people put surgical tubing inside the springs. This seems to kill all those "bad" resonances.

Really? I've noticed that regardless of how hard I palm mute my strings, when I sweep, it seems a particular string or note will not be muted, though it only happens on my guitar with an OFR. Maybe my technique actually isn't that ****ty.
