I was about to say that's really impressive, but then I remembered you don't need a TV to watch DVDs

I reckon you could make a dvd player with household items.

EDIT: Although I did watch it on a TV, odly enough.

I watched the DVD a couple of nights ago.

And I don't have a TV.

???

Did you just watch the disc sit there?

Okay, I worked out how to do it.

You need a glass of water with a few drops of bleach in, a cardboard tube from a toilet roll, a magnifying glass and a piece of cling film. And a square piece of tin foil about 5x4".

You put the cling film over the top of the glass, put the glass on the tin foil then put the DVD face up, and watch the film with the magnifying glass.

I've not worked out what the toilet roll tube is for yet.

One of the bet Nam films. The best one has to be Full metal Jacket.

Who just saw that lady get shot in the face?

Full Metal Jacket is pretty close, but only because half the film is training, the scene with the sniper is amazing though.

And I did, it's sick.

Just got finished watching it

Aye, it's a good'un.

However, I think you'll find both Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan totally ace it.

Haven't seen Saving Private Ryan *hides in shame* but I hated Black Hawk Down *hides from being flamed*, I dunno, I'm not much of a war movie person, but this one was pretty good

Well, BHK is an acquired taste, but I can't believe you haven't seen SPR; it's probably the best war film you'll ever see.

Honestly, rent it or buy it...

Meh, Platoon is good, but best 'nam film? Probably will get shouted at, but Apocalypse Now/Deer Hunter > Platoon...

And SPR is good, but I just can't see Tom Hanks as a soldier. He just seems out of place

Apocolypse Now is a pile of balls. The first half of the film is cinematic genius, the second half is a waste of reel.

Wow we're in full agreement there.
Band of Brothers>SPR>FMJ>BHD>Platoon.
Platoon's ok though.
Band of Brothers is the closest I think I've ever seen to a depiction of what the military in wartime is really like.

Meh, each to their own. I love Dennis Hopper's character. Only outshone by Kilgore...

He was a soldier in Forrest Gump.

Tom Berenger's depicition of a platoon sgt in "Platoon" is just to far over the top for me to consider this a good depiction of a "war movie". Yes it depicts the contradictions and injustice that happens in times of times war. But there are no instances of a "Platoon Seargant" acting as he does that I have ever encountered. Yes I have been in an infantry platoon and I have also been the Platoon Sgt of an infantry platoon. His attitude, actions, and demeanor would have had him demoted or killed in the reality of the military. Your country or mine. That is the biggest objection I have to this film.
If I had ever worked for an asshat like him his days would have been very limited.
Ya I was a badass once too.
