in a project im working on right now i cant seem to capture the vocals right i keep getting the wierd ****ty room sound but i cant treat the room is there another way to get the vocals cleaner?

do what they do on "Dirty Jobs" and record your vocals while sitting under a blanket.
or try a room with more carpet and things all around to soak up some of the natural room reverb.

what mic are you using?
a condenser sounds nice bu picks up a lot of stuff and therefore should not be something every home studio should be using.
a dynamic like the Shure SM58 is nice.

if you have a walk in closest, they make nice dry vocal booths.
