Possibly the greatest? Post some of your your favourites...

The greatest, indeed. I don't know where to begin. I think I own close to all the officially released strips of Calvin and Hobbes, actually. Can't name a favorite at the moment, too hard to pick one.

Fake.

The real final strip is the one in "It's a Magical World."

Calvin & Hobbes is/was the greatest comic strip of all time. I own 7 or 8 books of it, and I've read them all many times.

That is fake.

The 3,160th and final strip ran on Sunday, December 31, 1995.[2] It depicted Calvin and Hobbes outside in freshly-fallen snow, reveling in the wonder and excitement of the winter scene. "It's a magical world, Hobbes, ol' buddy… Let's go exploring!" Calvin exclaims as they zoom off on their sled,[11] leaving, according to one critic, "a hole in the comics page that no strip has been able to fill."

Check my profile for the comic appreciation group; Calvin and Hobbes basically made me what I am today, no joke- from vocabulary to sense of humor; I even want to be a cartoonist when I grow up.

^Bill Watterson is a recluse; good luck with that.

here's what I said in the comic appreciation group.:
"Same here. Honestly, without C&H, I wouldn't have the writing skills and vocabulary that I do now. I also learned timing and setups for jokes, plus irony, puns, etc. And since English is my best subject, I basically have Bill Watterson to thank for my schoolwork since 2nd grade, and my hopeful career in comics."
That's what I meant to convey in my post.

It's a job you really have to love because unless you sell out OR you're as good as him, you'll never make a huge amount of money.
His principles on licensing have rubbed off on me, and I guarantee if any features I ever make become popular, I will NOT license my characters and Garfieldize them. When you do that, the integrity of the strip dies.
