I'm looking for some theory books and I want to know what you think the best books to get are. I play alot of metal so anything that will help with that (I heard classical is good). any ideas?
idk the fretboard logic books i have are pretty good and it pretty easy to understand.
there is a book by Mel Bay called "Music Theory". It is a approach to learning through the guitar strictly and it explains stuff pretty well. If you really have the willpower to go through with learning theory id recommend it.
Alfred's basic guitar method is pretty good, a lot of that "mary had a little lamb crap" but it gets the job done, u'll be pro @ sight reading when ur done the whole thing.
I picked up "Music Theory Made Easy" by David Harp. It's only 80 pages, but it contains the core stuff you need to learn about music theory. It was about 13 bucks too, and it's written in very simple terms, so you'll grasp it quickly. Not a bad book for the price.
