Hi,
i have been trying to learn from music theory for dummies, but alot of this is based for piano, an it gets confusing.
so before i go into the advanced stuff in that, i would like to know some basic theory specifically for guitar.
I have just purchased a sight reading book for my stocking ( ), so please recommend me some good books for theory for guitar, and it must explain scales, modes etc.
thanks

Theory is not exclusive to any instrument. The theory you learn for piano is the same as the theory you learn for guitar. There really isn't any reason to buy a book to learn about scales. There are tons of good lessons online. I also don't suggest learning the modes until you have a very good understanding of the major scale. otherwise, it gets confusing.
