Alright, so just a heads up: The pairings were switched around just a little bit because of one of our contestants dropping out, but all the people scheduled to go this week will still go this week/next week/ect.

This round features 2 guitarists both going for only one spot in the next round, and chance to move one step closer to being UG's BEST blues guitarist.

TheDev01dOne: "Blues Jam Track"

Sam i am: "Desolation Blues"

Good luck to both and may the best Bluesman win!

not bad, not great. I prefer Sam I Am's playing, although i found his tone to be very digital sounding

Sam's flowed very nicely and was played very well, he's the better player I reckon, though I prefer the actual sound of TheDev01dOne, it was pretty patchy. Both were a joy to hear of course

^^^^ Yeah, that's cos it was. Zoom Multi Fx Straight into my soundcard isn't exactly going to give me tube warmth. Now I have a decent mic, though, so I don't have the problem anymore.

TheDev01dOne - I like the song. Your tone sounded a bit too weak for me, and when i was listening to the song, i felt that their was something missing. I don't know what, but that's the feeling i got.

Sam i am - I loved the tone and the song was great. You get my vote.

Very nice both of you. My vote goes to sam i am though. I liked more, sounded a little more thought out, the flow was better and was harmonizing the backing track better IMO.
Cheers.

TheDev0ldOne- I don't dig the tone on this song but I thought that the playing was pretty good.

Sam I Am- Same thing here, I didn't really like the tone but the playing was pretty well done. The backing track was OK, and it sounded like you knew what you are doing, and how to play along with a backing track. Therefor the vote goes to you.

I voted for SamIAm because I enjoyed it a little more, but to be honest, neither really grabbed me. I just felt like something was missing in each track.

Backing track? I did it myself, played bass and keys!

Drums were done on my keyboard though.

I kinda figured that. It's still a backing track though. It wasn't like there was a whole band behind you.

Oh ok. I wasn't quite sure what you meant, when you said I know how to play along to a backing track it sorta implied it wasn't my own. Sorry bout tat.

Yeah, I meant that you play well with that backing track, like there were a couple breakdowns (with the keys) and you handled them well.

Sam i am b/c I liked his tone and playing a bit better. Nice job to TheDev01dOne, though.

P.S. Sam, did I hear some Jeff Beck licks at about 1:03 or 1:04? Sounds like him for a second, especially with the whammy bar tricks.

I didn't do that conscoiusly, I just like my whammy bar. But i do listen to Jeff Beck sometimes so I guess he influences me.
