Well... the jeniferever site is www.jeniferever.cjb.net but they're acyually Swedish.. so I don't know if you want to take them down maybe?

Also, this thread should be a sticky.... a great resource.

Also, another band to add. thisGIRL are an ace band from where I live, released a stunning album (Short Strut to the brassy front) on lockjaw, as well as having stuff released on Fierce Panda before being promptly dropped. However, they are starting to get more attention again, and could end up being big.

www.thisgirl.co.uk

At the risk of sounding like a bad music journalaist, they have an emo/emocore sound with a twist....
my name is matt. you can call me that if you like.

Ah, Sweedish eh? I just took most of the bands I could see on the thread and jotted them down onto the list.
ThisGirl are terrible man, I don't know how you could like them. Apparently they've changed over the last year or so, but I remember seeing them doing a thing for Trouble tv (along with Not Katies and some other crap bands) and it was one of the worst songs I had ever heard. I downloaded a few like 6 months after that and they were no better so I completely gave up on them. A friend went to see his mates band play, who were supporting ThisGirl, and he also came back saying they were crap, so I've completely given up on them. I'll add them to the list though.

Maybe its my home basis.... its kind of compulsory to like them round here lol. Nah, but yeah, I really got into them, their sound is kinda wierd to me, and i wasn't so keen at first, but it definitely grew on me, just had to get into it...

Wow, I've just been on a great little run of new Brit bands.

Cyrus (www.cyrus-online.com), not the best of bands, quite heavy with some nice parts. 'Fifteen' is quite a good song, through the first minute I thought I'm not going to like this, but then the vocals turn good and the song is actually really good. Worth checking out, I didn't listen to the other one they have on their site.

Through Silence (www.throughsilence.com) have not been around for ages, but have a kind of Thrice style to them. Very good music though, it goes really quite melodic in parts and excellent band, I've downloaded all the stuff on their site and I'd recommend 'Lending a close hand' the most out of them. Definately worth checking out, probably going to be big if the rock music trend stays the same for a little while longer.

One Word Answer (www.onewordanswer.com) are supporting Through Silence in Brighton on the 6th of March, which I may consider going down to see having friends down there at Uni. It's quite a typical pop punk song that they have available on their site which is a bit of a shame, I was expecting higher of them, but for pop punk it's not bad, worth checking out.

Pitchblend (www.pitchblend.com), the site doesn't seem to be working right now, probably being updated, but they've been bigged up by magazines like Kerrang before, so worth checking out I should think, especially as I saw something about a free cd on their site!

Lastly is a band I have yet to hear, but have ordered the cd so I'll tell you what they're like soon, Beyond All Reason (www.beyondallreason.co.uk). They've been played over Radio 1, Funeral For a Friend have name-dropped them and apparently 8 record labels are after them! There's 2 tracks available for download on their site, but in Windows Media format (which I don't like) so check them out too.

Ken & Barbie hell, the Pitchblend site is up now, and I've just gone downloaded a couple of their songs and it's amazingly good stuff. I'm suprised that they're not a lot bigger already. I really recommend you check them out, there's 4 downloads and you can request a free promo cd! I stupidly didn't see the labels/managers/zines part where you get the cd, press clippings, biog and photos, but I don't know what I'd do with them if I got them anyway. Definately a cd worth getting people, even if it's not usually your favourite type of music.

woo! my band made the list!
whats listed is the mp3 (most of them being bad quality site) at http://payola.dmusic.com, but the official site is currently at www.geocities.com/payolaband/ (stupid .tk address doesnt work anymore)

anyway yeah, probably one of the most exciting bands ive heard for ages that are on the list are peace burial at sea. the songs downloaded off their site kick and i cant wait to get the album when i can spend cash again!

theres a local band that people talk a lot of called the New Lev Yashin, who are pretty good, not usually my style, but i like them and their musics pretty good. www.thenewlevyashin.co.uk

if you live in the Middlesbrough/Stockton area you can catch our big gig at the Stockton Arc on the 28th Feb. It's a small chance that any of you are though...

keep those brits coming!

Woahly crap, people must be desperate!
I was just looking round ebay again for the Franz Ferdinand 7" that I have (thanks again Buzz), and just take a look......
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2588906460&category=27347&rd=1
That's insane if you ask me

EDIT: I just thought I'd help you lot become as clever as me. Although this has now made me in debt by about £60, Domino Records are still selling the 12" vinyl and cd single of 'darts of pleasure'. The 12" was £4.90 (including p&p) and I just thought it was a genius idea to buy one now while I could when they're selling on ebay for £18. The 7" copies are now unavailable and so rarer, but the people on ebay seem not to have brains at all. In a few months I may be selling all the Franz stuff that I'll have on vinyl (which'll be everything by next month), and this will hopefully amount to a lot of profit. So I thought I'd help others to get in on it by going here http://www.dominorecordco.com/artist.php?artist=171
It's not a definate earner though, but it seems it's ok at the moment (fingers crossed).

Again I return........
Eastern Lane (www.eastern-lane.co.uk) they supported The Libertines back in November I think and they've had a couple of releases (an EP, an album and single(s)). They've got one song on their site worth checking out called 'Vena Cava'. They're on the same label of British Sea Power as well so I hope that sways some of you.

I told you the people on ebay are dumb, I mean they're still selling them on amazon for something like £8, why pay £21!?
I'll check out that Fusion lot tomorrow at some point I think

p.s. There's the 12" going for £18 on ebay as well and £4.90 on domino records, how f*cking dumb! I might buy one of all of them, or 2 so I can keep a copy, and sell them on.

I just checked back on the ebay status' and the cd (with 23 hours left) is going for £36.02! the 12" (with 8 hours left) is going for £21! and the 7" (with 2 days left) is going for £13.50!
I think I may have to invest £5 in the cd as well in a couple of days. that's like £70 for all 3, and bought for like £10/£15. Some people are so f*cking dumb it's unbelievable

Yeah did take a while, but ah well, not much else to do at the moment. Thought it may be useful as well. There's only 4 bands I don't have the sites for now so if you can help it'd be great, but if not, don't worry. If you can think of new bands as well, feel free to post them

Added Jonny boy, but I didn't forget to put them up, I just figured they were big enough for people to already know their songs quite well and be able to find their site pretty easily, but ah well, they're up now anyway.

EDIT: Just thought I'd say, you can't buy the Darts of Pleasure 12" anymore, and the Darts of Pleasure EP has stopped being made also. If you missed out, all I can say is..... unlucky.

I've just got Beyond All Reason's demo EP through the post, it's good guitar work on 'This September', and overall it's not a bad song, but then track two (the title track, 'The line we draw between'), the screaming is overdone and a little too hardcore style screaming for my liking. I don't think this lot are going to make it huge, but there's a chance that they'll break into the underground a bit more than they have. I'll listen to the next couple of songs and if my thoughts change, I'll write it down.
They're kind of Funeral for a Friend with a screamer sounding like something out of Cradle of Filth (I shudder at that thought).

I now have a problem with Domino records. You order something from a place and you expect them to have it right if it says "in stock". Apparently not, now I'm not getting my 12" Franz vinyl and I'm getting my £5 back, ooooh, just what I wanted!

thats a shame, i wanted that EP , but ill probably get the new album soon, and i suppose some of the songs will be on there.... i hope [jon crosses fingers]

oh, another thing....does it have to be the official band sites, because I bet there probably will be many excellent fan sites out there.

Just A thought.

if i find any good ones, i will add post them, and say that they are not the official website.

Well I've just managed to order the EP from america off amazon, through some company called Caiman (who I've used before and are trustworthy, just a little slow). I'm guessing there'll be a couple more but I'm not sure.
Official sites is easier at the moment due to the amount of sites you could have for one band. I'll add Travis at some point soon.

Radiohead has ..... I thought this thread was about finding new bands, not the quest to find lost websites for old bands!

'nother band for you.....

65 Days of Static, kind of post rocky/math rocky stuff, but with some kinda trippy weird electronica elements..... very, very f<c>ucked up. I'm gonna be seeing them next month, as Youth Movie Soundtrack Strategies are supposrting them, so I'll be able to say what they're like live, which could be different to on record from the sounds of it.... anyway, the site is www.65daysofstatic.com

Also, I'm very happy now... my A Perfect Circle tickets came in the post today
my name is matt. you can call me that if you like.
