No thanks. Posting pictures makes for a thread that grows way too large. I think we should all cool off on the pictures guys.

Party pooper.

I just thought it would be great to post pics of KISS that are rare

Does anyone know a resource where I can get Ace's amp and guitar settings for each of his songs? Many of his songs appear to use the same settings.

He pretty much uses a Gibson Les Paul - either a '58 or a '59 - with Marshall stacks (whatever model was cutting edge in 1975, the name escapes me at the moment). Gain should be halfway, with plenty of treble and middle and a touch of bass.

I want some Canadian dates! I haven't seen KISS since the Millenium show in Vancouver in 1999/2000. I was going to go see them in Whistler last September, but the promotor cancelled - at least I got refunded and Gene sued the company for $950,000US.

I'm in the Midwest and I'd even travel to the East coast for a show. It's unfortunate that they've become a casino band lately.

I don't they have. They've been playing massive stadiums in Europe recently haven't they?

Anyone get the Kissology set? I have volumes 1 and 2. It was good to see the Creatures era, but we really didn't get enough of that period.

Imagine your band makes it big. You can pick one of the following drummers to back you up on a tour. Who do you pick?-

Peter Criss
Anton Fig
Eric Carr
Eric Singer

I was born in the wrong generation

Kiss are one of my favourite bands. I've been looking for a kiss thread and have finally found one (even though it only took 10 minutes). Favourite Kiss song would have to be 100 000 years or Black Diamond.

My parents have all their records thats how i got into them.

KISS had amazing albums. I wouldn't mind seeing them make another real one, since they haven't done a thing to revitalize their career. However, they've also become slightly irrelevant, with age. Gene Simmons and the guys aren't releasing new stuff.

Peter Criss, especially if they get to sing.
#194
I devinately prefer the original setup, to the one they have now. Although tommy thayer is skilled at guitar playing, it just isn't kiss really anymore Singer isn't the best drum player, but Criss is getting old even though he was one of the best drummers ever.
I liked God of Thunder it was a very good song, and they did a great version on VH1 rock honors.
#195
Peter Criss...well isn't the best drummer but it's his technique that everyone loves.

Oh and his AWESOME Voice!

that part from Cold Gin (2.55 - 3.32 ) just is awesome, Ace Frehley's best song

yea, it's too bad he didn't sing it though
#197
Even though I don't listen to their songs much anymore, I'll always be a Kiss fan. I, like others took up the electric guitar because of Kiss (though I was never good enough to do any of Ace's leads). I think Ace is one of the most underated guitarists out there and should get more recognition.
#198
I would pick peter criss, not only because he's lovable, but he has an awesome voice, plus he'd be a major selling point for the tour!
#199
I find it rather ironic that most people enjoy KISS in their youth and grow out of them whereas I hated KISS when I was younger and I'm only getting into them now.

I thought they were freaks with comparatively shitty songs to say The Who or The Rolling Stones (my mentality six-seven years ago), but taking a step back and listening to them from a pure party hard attitude, I've only just recently come to appreciate them. Their music is pure, no strings attached fun, and from that angle it's really quite impossible to hate them.

The Kiss-ology videos on YouTube are great recordings. I love coming home from a long hard day and watching their antics for a bit.

What does everyone think about the reports of the "new" Kiss album out later this year?? Another Psycho Circus?
