Hmmm I guess I'll go against the grain and not name one of the most generically popular songs by Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd or some other immensly popular band.

Basically, anything from Crosby Stills and Nash's first album, Suit Judy Blue Eyes, Helplessly Hoping, Guinnevere... etc

I would have defined an 'acoustic song' as 'no electric instruments'*.

No-one mentioned "Ripple" by the Grateful Dead yet? "Sounds Of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel? Maybe even "Jugband Blues" by Barret. "Elaenor Rigby" by the Beatles could even be considered 'acoustic' - violins form the majority of the sound. Speaking of Beatles, what about "Working Class Hero" by Lennon? A wide range of Dylan could be up there too, but my personal favourite is "Mr Tambourine Man". "My Wild Love" by the Doors is also an awesome song, but I don't actually think it has any sort of guitar it.

*Or at least, no prominent electric instruments. None whatsoever would probably disqualify too many songs.
