Today is a better song on acoustic, if you have the voice for it.
Sincerely, Chad.

Thinking back... really the reason I've always wanted to play acoustic guitar is because we used to go out near a big lake and listen to these guys play in college. It was a multi-denominational college church group, and we'd go out to this old shut down two story ranger station that had lost its front wall but it was made out of concrete so we could get up in it then get up on the roof. We'd haul firewood up there and make a fire right on the roof, overlooking this lake. They would jam until 2 or 3 in the morning. I never recognized a single song. I imagine alot of it was based off of church songs, but I honestly did not ever recognize a single one, it was all just cool chord progressions, two guys playing at the same time.

So anyway, I guess I'm mentioning that so you don't forget the value of just making crap up. Doesn't have to be "a song", just beat the tar out of your guitar with various cool chord progressions. That's much easier to pass the time anyway. To put it in perspective, a local cover band's set list to let them play for 3 hours is 29 songs, average of 10 per hour with time in between. That's a whole lot of work, when the whole point is to relax. Just chug some beer and sloppily jam and have fun.

Great thread, TS.

Howzabout linking each recommendation to the actual tab on UG? If that's not too much trouble, of course. It'll be pretty cool and a lot easier that way. Nice list, by the way.
