it's the same with guns too, before you go testing that one.

Three Little Birds - Bob Marley

Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry

Hi Ho Silver Lining - Jeff Beck

Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash

Green Fields of France - The Men They Couldnt Hang (that version works the best, and also is the best me thinks )

Okay, I realize one of the conditions for campfire songs is "No retuning on multiple strings"...and "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls is on the list? I mean, it's a great song, but the tuning as far as I'm aware is BDDDDD?

Anyways, here's some I think are good campfire songs:

Fire and Rain-James Taylor
You've got a Friend-James Taylor
...pretty much any James Taylor.

I second "Pigs on the Wing Parts 1 and 2"

Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds-The Beatles
Viva La Vida-Coldplay (Yes, I said it)

Let's take it one step further and add a slogan:

Big Bach is listening you!
Bet someone kills me for suggesting this...

To help those who new or lazy (lazy meaning me), why don't you link all the songs to the correct tab, powertab and guitar pro (or just the tab if u want lol). It's tiring yes but well worth it .
Caught Up by The Fall of Troy. Greatest one EVAR

Strike him down with sleight of hand.
And if heaven rides against us
Then God himself must be damned.

Computer Science major! Apple enthusiast!
I wear Vibrams and type with Dvorak!
What about the acoustic version of "times like these" by the Foo Fighters? I learned it and Everlong when I first picked up the guitar and with about 30 seconds worth the messing around could play either one from memory.

Also I have to second the Jack Johnson post...

Well this thread hasn't been posted on for quite some time..
Give Me Love - Ed Sheeran
It would definitely make for a great campfire song.
House of the Rising sun - The Animals
Lyin' Eyes - The Eagles

and all those songs you learnt in summer camp :

Sarah The Whale
If you want to be unique (and funny), play some TV theme songs! The best part is, most people know all the lyrics and can sing along.

These are for an older crowd (40 and older I suppose)...

The Monkees Theme Song
Time To Change - The Brady Bunch (sha na na na na na etc...)
Gilligan's Island theme
Dukes Of Hazzard theme
The Facts Of Life theme
Diff'rent Strokes (great video on youtube of an asian guy rocking this out acoustically)
Cheers Theme
Golden Girls Theme
fafa1234 OK, I'll take the bait on both the necro-bump and the movie themes. How about "Flash Dance", from the same named movie?

Here's the chord tab:

Unless you're camping with tenors or women, I'd leave the capo off and just play in in G open..

BTW, I'm way, way, over 40.
