Walter Trout is a very good guitarist.
John Mayer is my new God.

Why do they have to be modern though?

heard all the older artists

I highly doubt that you've heard ALL of the older artists. I have over 80 GB of music and I probably haven't even heard of half of all the amazing older artists. Try digging deeper into your artist you already have cause I'll assure you that there is plenty of good blues to go around.

Also check out Joe Bonamassa.

Yeah I know, I was in the middle of typing out what I was saying when he posted that.

Also, I'm not going to help you anymore cause it doesn't seem like you are acknowledging or appreciating my help at all.

joe bonamassa. and john mayer, even though i think hes overrated (just an opinion), hes still quite good.

and another really good modern blues act is lil' ed and the blues imperials. i don't see how it matters if theyre old or not, though.

Some of these could be tricky to find but look for:

Collard Greens And Gravy (Still my favourite blues band ever)
Back Door Slam (Thanks to the other thread, they rule)
The Bondi Cigars
Geoff Achison (Amazing guitar player)

They should keep you busy for a while.

He isn't exactly current.

But nice try, you almost got away with it.

He's my favorite player.

Robben Ford, still playing (though his new stuff is gash)

Check out his debut and then check out Handful of blues. Handful of blues is my favourite album, perfect blend of blues, funk, jazz and rock.

Oh nuts sorry. I didn't think he wanted current blues guitarists. I must have read the first post wrong. My bad.

Gary Moore definitely for current then. He's one of my favorite guitarists.
