So I finnaly decided to get serious about the Jazz idiom. I'm tired of sitting in Jazz Ensemble and sounding like I'm playing the blues, and more importantly feeling like an imposter because I take Rock Barre chords and slide them up and down the neck. We've never really had a guitarist take the role who wasn't Rock, and so I'd like to leave my name in the Jazz legacy in my ensemble. I'm looking for a place where I can find high quality progressing Jazz instruction where I wont have to spend any bread, as frankly I dont have any right now to spend. I'm trying to do it on my own by transcribing songs by ear, learning scales outside of the pentatonic and blues, and new chords voicings that are based up in the higher strings but I need some guided instruction. I'll be getting the real book soon as I can afford to(lots of new pricy expensive upgrades struggling to pay insurance, gas and the like now), but would like a place to go to learn and absord starting with the jazz basics and going onward.

He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt.
He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice.

Remember: A prudent question is one half of wisdom.
