Crew violence officially sucks. It's really just as bad as gangs.
I'm the same as I was when I was six years old
And oh my god I feel so damn old
I don't really feel anything

The answer is simple.

Start a rival crew to take out their crew...

With dancing.

Thats how FSU got started. They wanted to take out neo nazis. Then they decided to be Nazi's themselves.

College in general can suck the juice from my balls...

But that is probably mostly due to the fact that I have no real desire to major in anything...

When people ask me what I want to be, I always reply: "I don't want to be my job. That is what I want to be."

But apparently that is an unacceptable answer.

Apparently in America you have to turn into a fat guy in cutless jeans who doesn't enjoy life and spends all day worrying about his job...

I'm growing increasingly spiteful towards crack rock stead bands...

My drummer pisses me off because he can't pick a set rhythm for any of our songs.. every time we play them, he does something different, and 75% of it sounds like shit... We have our first show in 3 weeks, and I don't want to be the worst band there.

I bought my first CD in ages... Subhumans "Internal Riot" from amazon. I can't wait for it to get here.

As long as we're on the topic of college, I'm learning some pretty interesting stuff in mechanical engineering, but I'm just having a hard time getting myself dedicated to school work right now. Hopefully I can kick myself into gear soon.

That's exactly how I feel. As far as I'm concerned, a job is something I have to do to make enough money to live on. I don't want my life to revolve around my job.

I am also scared of FSU kids being at a vitamin x show in a few weeks, its not tough guy hardcore by any means but EVERY band playing is indeed straightedge, hammer's in the pit does not sound like fun.
and jesus a guy named Jack control was stabbed in dallas, i think, at a Loc show by some punk gang because they were making fun of a latino kid and he stood up for him. He wrote an album on his death bed with his band 'severed head of state' it has some of the best dark lyrics you'll ever hear, and they are by a person who ACTUALLY spent a month on his deathbed.
( i know it happened in austin or dallas)

And does anybody else here think that when they pick up a sweet used record that the only reason it's at that store is cause its owner pawned it for herion (well this is the case for most crust records)

Say, man. They tell me you're pretty good! Don't you know you're in my neighborhood? They tell me you're pretty fast on them feets! You best be able to dance down on 14th street! You hear?
And clenching your fist for the ones like us
Who are oppressed by the figures of beauty,
You fixed yourself, you said, "Well, never mind,
We are ugly, but we have the music."

Random thought:

I have OCD and ADHD. It's like I feel the need to organize everything, but I' also feel the need to always do something else. It's a rather vicious cycle.

Sometimes I can get OCD. It's like if a couch cushion's not straight or a desk is not straight in a row I get all stressed. It's so annoying and there's nothing I can do about it when I'm at school or something.

I have some thoughts.

My band. We're good at what we do and we've made some real good originals. We have enough songs to make an album but I can't get into our music at all. I find everything we do really boring. I play bass and I try everything I can to make it fun but it's not.
BRIGHT LIGHTS PUT ME IN A TRANCE.
but it aint house music that makes me want to dance.

Quit

I wouldn't say quit, you'd probably regret it later. Talk to your other band members, and/or make a side project of what you want to do

I was in the same kind of situation. I quit and I am much happier. You have to find musicians who love the same music as you.

I like Classic Rock.

I think Phil Collins is a songwriting genuis.

Or at least he has written some mind blowing singles.

Seriously, he is like a white singing rapper without all the posturing.

I've come to hate the sound of the Pentatonic Minor. At least when I play it. When Eddie Hazel plays it it sounds like magic.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
#61
Yeah, I have no problem with classic rock but it's just getting boring. I can't quit because this is the only band in town. I'm the only bassist in town. I've tried talking to them to maybe speed things up a bit (our originals) and they refuse to.

EDIT: and everyone in the band is awesome, I just can't stand playing our originals.

Phil Collins makes probably the worst rock I´ve ever listened (that´s exaggerated, but you get the point)
#63
Phil Collins does indeed suck. And so does Cliff Richard.

I like Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull because they have talent and are thought provoking, plus I have numbed my brain with drugs to the point that not everything has to be hard out rock and roll anymore.
#65
I agree. The world would be a much better place if Phil Collins would have just stopped making music. A long time ago.

I personally like Jethro Tull and the Rolling Stones, but I can't stand any of the other bands I listened to while I was smoking marijuana. Black Sabbath is okay once in a while. But other than that, I can't really stand classic rock.

I like my music fast. I like the Boston bands that played at breakneck speed. I like the Dead Kennedys ability to make slow songs. I like Flipper. But classic rock is just unlistenable to me nowadays.

Also I think Mike Huckabee should be kicked out of the presidential race for using Chuck Norris in his campaign. That was the most childish stunt I've ever seen anyone pull in a campaign.

Since I know that Chuck Norris is a ****ing republican I started disliking him, but it really funny that the republican candidates are either religious fanatics or people who had 4 wives and got divorced 4 times

5 or 6 years ago I was a really big Uriah Heep fan (from this era I have 11 original CDs) and I liked Nazareth and Whitesanke, nowadays I hate them and hate listen to them

Why the hell can't I get anything to download on soulseek or Utorrent?

Seriously!

On UTorrent I'll have like 30 seeders and 40 peers and get no activity.

On Soulseek nothing happens. Ever.

Anyone know the inner workings of these things?

allright looks like i will be able to hit up a Bomb the Music Industry show feb. 2nd and i got two question

**** them. I was thinking about attending, but theres also a No Redeeming Social Value show that day (who I recommend).

But I won't be at that, either, I'll be seeing Hostage Calm in Bellemore.

Just a thought: Why is punk my favourite genre when I HATE so much about it? So much elitism, violence, ignorance, jock-mentality, sexism...(I suppose this just defines earth, but still)

Obviously there is a lot of good associated with it or else we wouldn't love it so much but I'm in too negative a mood to focus on that. I just find it funny how I can love something so much but also hate so much about it. It's almost like an annoying little brother whom you have to love and forgive. I don't know.

You love it because you want to look cool in front of the other Sum 41 and Green Day fans.

Uhm........whick punks do you know/mean?

I know a lot of sexist punks.

Sure, I make the odd slunge joke myself, but if a member of the fairer sex takes me to the side and tells me that my behaviour is downright offensive and will apologise / offer to compensate with a drink.

Then spike it with rohypnol and rat poison.

lol yup, that would be illegal

As for my two cents, I use to love the punk rock movement and its music. I've moved on musically, but I still have some healthy skepticism that I think I picked up while I was into punk. I love the political/ethical side of the movement, however a lot of the bands today think being total dicks is punk. Usually today the punk bands I see think that vulgarity and rudeness is punk, and I don't think it neccesarily is. You have to build communities, not enemies.

Alright, there's my two cents.

It's not a firewall...

Utorrent works kinda well, but it takes awhile for the download to get started now.

I have no idea how to download stuff on Soulseek. I right click, and then click download and nothing happens...
