Heh, I preordered WW and got that. I thought it was fairly righteous.

was it much different than the original OoT? master quest, that is
IIRC, just some mixing up in the dungeons.

yes the dungeon mixups were pretty hard. there were some things that navi would float around and turn green, you could z-target them but you couldn't get any info from her. you have you hit them with the sword or hookshot to get a key, open a door, etc

well, you didn't really need it, all you had to do was like...... age...

on a separate note, anyone beaten the cave of wonders or whatever it's called for TP? i get to some really low levels, but i never collected all the bottles, so i run out of health when i get careless.

Yes, but I used cheap tactics to do it. For example, when I got to the level with three of the Dark Nuts (huge knight guys), rather than go down and fight them, I would stand at the top and throw bombs. I did it the right way on m second playthrough, though.
#133
eh, my friend's borrowing my n64, inconveniently now that i want to play all these old games. i guess i'm gonna go beat TP again tonight for the 4th freaking time.

does anyone know the difference between links awakening and links awakening DX? is DX just in color?

DX was in color and had a special "Color Only" temple that you could only access on a gameboy color.

The best part of WW was when you had to sail through the storm. The music was all dark, and you had to find Jabun the fish for the blue pearl.

yeah, me and my friend are replaying it and trying to get every heart piece, skulltella etc possible, and we thought we'd try that.

you guys should look up that guy on youtube.com that does the Zelda speed trial. He beats the whole game in roughly 2:30:00, he exploits a lot of glitches and stuff though. doesn't beat it 100%

The "Hey! Listen!" bit from Navi is my ringtone.

Anyway, am I the only one who thinks the water temple from OoT is cake? Everybody talks about how hard it is, but the Shadow Temple was the hardest for me.

I dont think that is was necessarily hard as it was time consuming, i mean going to every different level twice to find the last damn key. took me four days to figure out that there was a key in that room in the very center of the level with the spikes at the bottom. damn that pissed me off.

^ oh! yea, now i remember, i don't think it's the same place you mentioned, but the thing that ALWAYS pissed me off in the water temple was that i knew i had all the keys i needed, but i couldn't figure out where to go. then after hours of searching, refusing to look it up on a guide, i realize that you have to go underneath that block that rises when you raise the water level, to get to the area with the whirlpools and the rolling boulders and such. it takes me forever to remember that every time i beat that damn level.

I remember the first Zelda game I ever owned was Links Awakining for the Game Boy. After that, I went and bought Zelda 1 and 2 for the NES. I was so addicted after Links Awakening.

I wish I still had my N64, so I could play OoT. Now I have to borrow the GC-version disc from a friend everytime I feel like playing it. On that note, does anyone know if they have all the Zelda games available for the Virtual Console yet? So far I've only bought A Link to the Past.

Different question: what's everybody's favorite piece of equipment? My personal favorites are the Spinner and the Double Hookshot (both from TP).

I think the water temple in OoT is the hardest.
It's actually possible to break your game in there, if you unlock this one door, you run out of keys and can't finish the temple.

It happened to me when I was younger, I cried.

Phantom hourglass is the best Zelda game in years.

Well, probably since Majora's mask anyway.

Am I the only one who preferred Majoras Mask to Ocarina of Time? They're both epic, I just liked all the interactivity with other people in MM. And the Kafei and Anju bit was awesome.

Also, anyone want to help me and a few other people work on a Zelda ripoff game? (3D)
If you do, just PM me with how you can help and I'll send you the link to the forum

There's two common rules to any game.

The early bosses are hard, the only harder bosses are optional ones.

And, any boss battle in a circle shaped arena (in which the center cannot be walked on) is always easy. as the strategy is ALWAYS the same.

I think this is my favourite thread ever. I am a HUGE zelda fan, Ive played every game apart from the four swords one on the gamecube. I completed Ocarina Of Time 100%, I literally did everything there is to do.

Have any of you tried the "Ocarina Of Time Uber Challenge". Thats thing is too hardcore even for me. Here is the details.

err, if anyone has that navi ringtone thing, can you pm me and i will send you my email address to send it to me. I want it soo bad

I really think they should do a remake of Oot but with better graphics and everything bigger like it was in TP. that would be awesome.

I think that if all they changed were the graphics to update it, that it would be good. the only other thing they could do without ****ing it up would be to add a dungeon that is just for kicks, and doesnt mess with the plot at all. A bit like the well-thing in the TP desert.

Other than that, if they did it they SHOULD NOT CHANGE THE STORY OR GAMEPLAY

(oh yeah, and give it Wii controls)

Majora's mask was great. I liked the plot and the strange, alternate setting. There was a huge amount of sidequests.

And it had space aliens. Instant win.
