Well, I did actually put this in a thread for sale, but decided against the whole thing.

New Epi. LP Standard Plus Top in Heritage Cherry.

Gonna fit a Gotoh floyd rose I had delivered on Tuesday morning at unfortunately 6:15am & I'm fitting a Fender/Kahler-USA Behind the nut string lock.

I'm also fitting a Fernandes Sustainer kit I've had begging to be fitted to my other LP but decided on this one instead.

I'm gonna clean up my shed tomorrow cause it's in a state, I'll take photo's of it tomorrow for show tomorrow & I'll probably make a start on this beginning of next week some time.

LP as it is now.

Hopefully it'll be a bit neater than what I managed to pull off with my last LP here:
https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=708963

Edit:
I'm thinking of fitting a p90 with it's own controls, like a push-pull Vol/Tone with a kill-switch for it without wiring it into the 3 way switch.

So I could have the sustainer pup on in the neck, powering the bridge, flick on the p90 to give it a bit more bite to it, as when using the sustainer, it can't be used as a pickup.

I don't think a lot of black people play guitar anymore.

Your last job wasn't nearly as bad as most people's. This'll be interesting. Good lick.

I'll have a good lick, cheers, haha.

I put my first one all down to experience with the first time routing for a trem like that really, but wasn't too bad really I guess, still messy though.

I plan on slimming the neck down too as this thing is hella huge compared to my 01', 99' or 88' standards, but I don't know how deep the truss cavity on this thing is compared to the older or Gibson models.
Anyone who knows, I'd be glad to take the advice?

Maybe do a refinish on the whole thing as well, not REALLY my colour, I don't suit it considering ALL bar one of my guitars are Ebony, most with Ivory bindings too.
My Strat is Sunburst, so I don't care much for the heritage cherry in my collection.

I've heard you need a flat top guitar for the Fernandes sustainer kit due to the control being PCB mounted.
GEAR:
Epiphone LP special model 2 (Heavily modded - killswitch and custom midi X-Y touch pad).
Digitech Whammy, Zvex Fuzz Factory, Boss Dynamic Wah, Electro harmonix Little Big Muff, Zoom G7.1ut, Digitech Grunge, Korg KP2.

Just of interest, why not put on the Gotoh nut? It will work better, plus it screws in from the top.

I don't mean to hijack your thread or anything, but I need advice for a similar thing your doing/ have done. I plan on putting a vintage tremolo on my LP copy, and I have everything marked out, but I have question.
Did you have problems with the action? With the neck angle of a LP I thought that might be a problem. Also the TOM bridge set kinda high off the body of my guitar.

If you had problems with action and such, what did you do to fix them? Any tips?
Thanks.

Oh and thats very beautiful Epi you got there. You should take off the pickguard while your doing the mods, cause LP's without pickguards just looks so much better to me.

Not if you route out a good size hole at an angle inside for it.
I'm going more for a Neil Schon sorta model only I'm doing extra bits and pieces myself. It's going to mount behind the Floyd bridge.

Cause I didn't get the nut with the Gotoh unit plus they never had the ones I was wanting at WD Music, plus I'd have to chunk away the nut and fretboard slightly so a behind the nut one is my best bet.

If you look at my old thread, you'll see how high the Floyd sits off the body, if I wanted it higher, the posts would go all loose and wobbly so I left it in lower and angled the Floyd unit instead of having it counter-balanced flat perfectly.

Like I said, I had some buzz so I left the unit angled to stop any problems.

Yup, I hate pickguards really, esp. the LP ones.

Right well, I got lazy and got someone else to do the work for me, haha.

I've never had the time recently with Uni, but still, it's lovely looking and alot neater than what I could do free-hand routing.

Photo's will be up shortly.

how easy was the instalation of the sustainer with the existing pickup? and what style of 3 wy switch did you use. standard gibson or the block one?

I was entirely supportive throughout the installation of everything on this.
The Sustainer Pickup installation was a twat, honestly, wire's were to short, had to extend with 3 set's of multi-core to keep evverything in working order, ect.

Oh, the pick-up springs are to big too, you'll either need to cut them down a bit or get new ones, otherwise the sustainer driver pick-up isn't close enough to the strings to generate the full vibrations.

The 3-way was just the one that came with the Epiphone.

Honestly though, there is nothing better than a nice Beefy LP with a Floyd Rose & Sustainer to give those beasting lead's & harmonic feedback.

It has plenty of pull up, the strings hit the fretboard before the Floyd hit's the top of the guitar.
