The jack where you put in the cable on my strat keeps coming off and when I twist it back in, the volume keeps switching on and off. How can I keep it from doing this? It sucks playing guitar with your friends when all the sudden the volume just completely goes away.
You're pulling at the wires in the guitar here. Take the jack off, resolder it all, then screw the switch back into place with a spanner of some kind...
I've got a similar problem.

I never get any volume at all. Nothing. Leaving my 75W cranked volume around 6, I can wait for about a half hour with my guitar plugged in and no noise at all. Not even feedback.

Works fine with my ibanez, and my friends' ibanez as well as his bc rich.

Great list Rutch. On re-reading this one I'd have to say Solid State means not liquid or gas.

I figured it out.
Umm yea if the wire on the output jack isnt connected you get, no output hence no sound.
