I need help to play this blink-182 classic please, every tab i go on starts on 3 on the A string but i know that it starts around 5.

Sorry if this is a little vague, i just want a proper tab because i love this song.

P.s. I do have guitar pro.

I think the real problem here is that you're wasting your time trying to learn a blink 182 song...

I'm positive that one of the Guitar Pro tabs is correct. It does start on 3. Sorry, but you're wrong unless you've seen Tom play it with his tuning dropped a step
#4
i think maybe you're doing it wrong if EVERY tab starts on something you think it doesn't.

EDIT: Checked the tuning?
#5
Yeah i checked the tuning and MadMudgeN go eat ****.

I played it the way every tab seems to and it sounds close but not right and my mate was playing it on the 5th fret and it sounded alot better than if i did.

Edit:5th fret not string my bad.

Tom doesn't tune down, and it sounds correct played on the 3rd fret of the A string. Maybe your friend has better technique.

Actually, I believe Adam's Song is played tuned down.

Either way, this guy needs to tune his guitar.

Well I can assure you, if you are tuned to standard, it starts on 3. The tabs are right. No question about it. I learned the song a while back, and all those tabs are not wrong. They sound fine along with the album so I don't know what to tell you bud.

Ah thanks its just between my group of friends they were arguing about how to play it and i thought i was playing it right but everyone seemed to play it better than me but thanks i guess i will just practice with it =)

starts on 3. the next note is a 5, or an open d (if i remember correctly, it's been years since i last played this song). and the difference there is just how you want to transpose the notes.
#14
it starts on 3rd fret on the the a string

Make sure your guitar is tuned properly. I taught this song to a friend not too long ago, and I specifically remember that it starts on the third fret on the A string.

I had the unforunatly learnt this song in my first year of playing *shudders
My guitar teacher tought it to me on the third fret

And all that's best of dark and bright

Thus mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

SCHHNAAP. But yes, very true.

For the record, it DOES start on the 3 on the A string.

Wearable capo? Maybe he means like clamping the capo to his penis and walking around?

Because that's not what I do with my capo.

lol, not really

it's still the same notes, just played in different places.

time for you to learn some theory rather than blindly following tabs methinks.

It is on the 3rd fret. Check your tuning, listen to the song again whatever. Obviously you're doing something wrong. However, MadMudge has a point. you're not going to make very much progress learning Blink-182. As much as I like the band, you will never become a better musician playing pop-punk.
#28
standard tuning, play it how the tabs say it is. it appears in the video he's playing it in drop d. doesn't matter. do whatever is more comfortable.
