I just built a small clone and the battery drains itself even when the input's unplugged. What's the deal? The battery ground isn't connected to the circuit ground (as far as I know) unless you're plugged in!?

take off the battery from your battery connector, and then measure continuity of the negative/black wire's side to ground (the pedal's casing if its metal). if there's continuity, then you got a lame stereo jack.

and you can probably connect the battery's positive side only to your battery connector, and put an ammeter and measure the current between the battery and the negative/black wire's side of the battery connector.

be sure to do this with the battery unlugged or half plugged as posted. and keep the input jack (or any jack with the stereo battery switch off jack) unplugged.
