i'm thinking of buying a semi-hollow body guitar. the ones i've played though don't allow for very much access to the higher frets. now, does anyone know of any semi-hollow's with extreme cutaways. preferably on both sides. oh and under a grand.

don't know how you mean. do you mind giving some examples of what guitars you've tried?

Used Epi Elitist Casinos and Sheratons. Or an Ibanez Artcore Custom. The forget the model that has good fret access, but look into them.

Possibly the best upper fret access on a semi-hollow.

Plus a third, piezo pickup in the bridge for some real tone flexibility.
