I'm only starting this song. And this question relates to the first few measures. My question is ragarding the 'D' string. It seems to me that as I change measures that I'm blunting(like a hammer on I think) the sound from this string because from previous measure we hit it open and now were fretting it.

Is this normal or is there a better way of doing this?

Thanks

Practice these bars (the verses). Get your fingers used to it.

Hmm, if I understood your question, then I guess, try to sustain the notes and pull you finger away at the last moment ( i guess?!). Assuming the problem is on the 4th fret on D during the changeover?

ok I think I was just fretting the D string to early but needed to fret/play at the same time and this sounds better.
