Hey!
just a quick one here
What gauge strings would you reccomend for playing in drop b on a bass guitar. i know we need to set the truss rod up etc, just the gauges needed would be greatly appreciated, maybe even the make of strings which are best for these drop tunings (as im a guitarist posting for my friend who plays bass)
Thanks in advance guys!

get a proper B string.

.130 is the usual gauge. Maybe .135 tho.

You can tune a 4 string BEAD.

Gear:
Fender Standard Jazz Bass
Artec Matrix Pedal Tuner
BBE Optostomp
Boss GEB 7
EHX NYC Big Muff
Ashdown MAG C410T-300
Torque T100BX
GAS-ing for:
Boss SYB5
Behringer Intelligate IG9

45 65 80 105 130

is what im using at the moment on my 5 string and i find the B string to be a bit floppy on standard tuning.

GO 135 possibly 140 if you can find it also im using Rotosounds if that makes a difference
