The other day me and the drummer in my band were talking about some things that we wanted to do with our songs. I suggested that we have one of those riffs, whenever I've heard it it's been a verse or a bridge, where everyone starts it but the guitars only play like 2 or 3 notes and then the drummer and singer keep going until the end of the riff. You guys know what i'm talking about?
He didn't get it so I figured if I came on here and asked for some examples I could show him cuz off the top of my head I can't think of any. Anyone got an example I could show him?

This is what I'm talkin about: (I know its lame but I just threw in some random notes for it)

Guitar-
-------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------
2--X---2---------------------------------------------------------
2--X---2---------------------------------------------------------
0--X---0---------------------------------------------------------

Drums- x=bass drum o=cymbal s=snare
-------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------
0-------o------o-------o----o--------o----------------------------
---s------------s-------------s-----s--------s------------------------
x-------x---------------x---------x-------x----------------------------

Not sure if this is the right forum. If not tell me and i'll move it.

I think I know what you mean. Try Supermassive Black Hole - Muse after the 1st chorus I believe.

Just - Mudvayne. I think that's the sorta thing you mean.

Anyway, wrong forum, try electric guitar/tabs and chords or something.
