I know all about Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, etc etc, but.. I've come across modes called "Hypodorian", "Hypophrygian", "Hypolydian" and even "Hypomixolydian"! Could anyone give me insight on what these modes are, and if they could even be used in modern music? Or have they just been phased out and have become other modes?
Hypodorian = Aeolian (Natural minor)
Hypolydian = Lydian
Hypophyrgian = Mixolydian
