hey,
I just bought a used(mint condition) 1990's peavey transtube supreme head thats 100 watts. Now i need a cab NOT A 4x12 thats just over kill, but just a simple 2x12, but see i dont know which one...should i save up and get a mesa cab? marshall 2x12 cab? randall? peavey(not sure if they make a 212 cabs) anyways...
i dont want to spend over 500 for it. I would get a avatar but it says on there web site they they only sell the U.S and i live in Canada so...thats about it for avatar cabs
also i play shred(vai and gilbert) and fusion(greg howe) and wondering which speakers should i get, vintage 30's, greenbacks, sheffields or jagaur speakers?
thanks in advance
JP

P.S if theres any other suggestions feel free to give me a hawler

you might be able to find a avatar locally
i dunno if youguys in canada have a similar thing to craigslist, check that.
Otherwise, you'll probably have to get lucky finding a 2x12. But near me, theres always 4x12 marshall jcm 800/900 cabs for like 400 bucks

Honestly I don't think the type of speakers will influence the way you play in the slightest; it's all about the tones you use. I can't see a problem with any of the Celestion choices, but I don't know much about the others.

As far as the cab - 500 is A LOT of money, you COULD buy a used 4x12 Marshall 1960a or 1960b easily for that (they usually go for around $400 US in the local market here in Chicago, used, and if you're quick you can sometimes spot a deal for $350). So I'd say a Mesa 2x12 or get a used Avatar off of eBay, if it were my money.

Two identical threads on one page is a bit unnecessary mate. Someone has posted a link to a Canadian company who sell Avatar cabs in your other thread.
