I wanna record at home and the Beringer I have is kinda crap.

Im using Ableton Live and a Line 6 Toneport to record.

I dont really know anything about mics or how much to spend to get a good one.

Can anyone suggest one please?

Shure SM57s seem the standard way to go when it comes to mics for recording

Shure SM57 ftw. You can get a used one for around £40-£50 (don't know your currency so sorry if you don't use Sterling).

Ignore the people who have given you suggestions before you've told us what you're going to be micing up and recording.

Different instruments and applications require different mics.

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.

Im a huge fan of a Sennheiser e906 on axis, and a Shure SM57 off axis for guitar.

But that might be a bit technical for you.
