here you can discuss all your favorite death metal bands. I think this will get rid of all the sub-sub genre threads around here *cough, cough* brutal death metal thread *cough, cough.* to get started, i was wondering if tim yeung used to be the drummer for nile, and if he wasn't then who was.

SO if Janne and Alexi did a gay porn, would I be the only one willing to buy it?

That's a dumb question, you know everyone in here would buy it too. I know I would!

Search for Artefact.

^so their old drummer's name is actually Tony Laureano?
Up the Punx!

^Yes and Joe Payne was their bassist for a year or two. Nile's drummer list is basically a whos who of good death metal drummers.

Fu ck off, I created the BDM threadn for a reason, because whenever I make a thread about a band of that style it sinks without trace. By amalgamating alll threads about BDM bands it makes moere sense. Plus I want to talk about one specific style of metal in it. Too bad you don't like brutal death. Boo Hoo.

Good day!

Hey, don't take it personally, i was just joking and trying to consolidate a little. I also love brutal death. If you want a brutal death thread, go ahead and have one. I just got the idea from the thrash thread and i'm sort of tired of sub-sub genres and lots of pigeon-holeing. I consider brutal death and tech death and blackened death all just to be death. If you want your sub-sub genre thread, go ahead and type about bands that are teh Br00talz

^ I also like other styles of DM, but the BDM thread came about because there is less interest in this forum in brutal death than in tech or trad DM, or melodeath.

I love how capping an argument with a rolleyes makes arguments look more intelligent.

ok, that's cool. i apologised over in your thread, but i'll say it here too. i'm sorry.

Does anyone else think that the new vocalist for Cryptopsy will ruin the new CD?
i listened to him on myspace (He's in a band called 3 Mile Scream) and it wasn't very Cryptopsy sounding.

He's better than Mike Disalvo, but still.....
#15
Cryptopsy's going downhill. I mean, they fu cking have faux hawks. Now, there's nothing wrong with mohawks in general, but you don't normally associate them with Cryptopsy.

Imagine doesn't really matter, but if their next album is ****e, I'm blaming it on the faux hawks.

Yep.

Everybody's heard all of the bands mentioned ITT, now let's talk about Cartilage or Depravity, you know, something that more people should hear, rather than something less people should overrate.

Mang, you probably wouldn't even recognize a hardcore part in a metalcore song.
#21
Dinosaurbrocore, all you ever seem to do is lecture people on deathcore. Can you talk about something else?

Akercocke confuses me. I love them, but they confuse me.

That is all.

How about Cartilage? they're pretty sweet and highly underrated.

Tons better than crap like Nile and Necrofaggot.

EDIT:

*facepalm at slagging off of one of the most refreshing bands in modern death metal, and not talking about Necrophagist*

I take it you've never heard Cartilage then.

And I'm not honestly going to if you think Nile are boring and Doom-era JFAC is actually good.

Sorry.

yeah bro, not enough blast beats and every song sounding identical, i can see what you mean

edit: oh for christ's sake you might as well read your own ****ing sig dude

Oh sorry, there have to be breakdowns and generic metalcore riffs, obviously, instead of blinding technicality, a dark atmosphere, unique inspiration and actual songwriting skill.

EDIT: YOU'RE calling ME a troll?

I disagree with you. Get over it.
#32
metalcore riffs dont exist

on a more serious note: nile's alright, but every song they've ever done sounds identical

i really don't enjoy necrophagist, cause though they're technical, they don't really write anything too interesting

i'm more into oldschool dm and deathcore i guess
