Alright after months of going back and forth between pedals, I had it narrowed down to ProCo Rat 2 and Fulltone OCD. I've had the RAT for 3 weeks and I like it but it's not perfect. I played the OCD in a store and I loved it. The only thing is I didn't get that much time to play around with it. So can anyone give me an example of how high the gain can be. Thanks.

its fine for gain. you just have to learn how to use it. whats the highest gain band you need it for?

Around Black Sabbath/Ozzy-ish? Maybe a little higher but that's the highest I can think of right now

^It should probably be fine for that.

Youtube is a good place to look for an idea, there are a few demos for the OCD on there, I believe.

yeah it'll be fine.

2 ways to play it:
level down, gain up
or level up, gain down

try both

What kind of tonality does the OCD have?
I may buy one instead of waiting for the blackheart killer ant. And i can't really load vids as I have dialup. Is it transparent, crunchy, smooth, whut?

Transparent, and crunchy. Slightly gritty for leads on the neck pickup.

Not too much chug though, but great crunch. It's got a great treble rolloff, it makes even a Metal zone sound smooth and defined if you put the OCD after it.

Hmm... sounds alot like my dod yjm308 (I modded it to grey 250 specs). Must be better in different ways though.
Maybe I can find a fulltone dealer near me and try it out.

well, it's got a deafening amount of volume boost to it, +25 db's, and it's pretty versatile, and it's much more responsive to dynamics and volume controls than the DOD. I've played entire songs with clean and distorted parts without turning off the pedal.
