Maynard James Keenan.

With my feet upon the ground I move myself between the sounds and open wide to suck it in.
I feel it move across my skin.
I'm reaching up and reaching out. I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.
what ever will bewilder me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.

Euphoric.

Dallas Green - his City and Colour stuff

'Save your scissors'

So go on
And I will refrain
And I'll keep on running this neverending race
Well maybe next time will be the right time
And maybe next time will be your time

So save your scissors
For someone else's skin
My surface is so tough
i dont think the blade will dig in save your strength save your wasted time theres no way that i want you to be left behind
go on and save your scissors
save your scissors

So why does it always seem
That every time I turn around
Somebody falls in love with me
This has never been my sole intention
And I have never claimed
to have patents on such inventions

I could write songs as bad as Wham's if I really felt the urge to, but what's the point? - RS

John Henry Of Darkest Hour. Just overall well written.

to reflect is to regret throwing it all away
And apathy, my one way street, it took so much from me
Separated by this divide I created through my fears
And in your tears you tried to show blind eyes and tell deaf ears
If we can make it through the landslide standing
We'll lift each other up to see the bliss on the horizon
Been looking in from the outside lately
I've seen who I used to be and it's not me
And we can keep healing
And we can keep holding on
I just want to take you where our time won't waste anymore
Through the mountains on the water
We'll stay engulfed in one another
And when I can wake up to see the sunrise in your eyes
Then we'll finally be free and I'll know I've made it home
So let's go out west and bask in the overcast
And walking through the rain we'll see the beauty in life again

Dustin Kensrue from Thrice. Everything he writes has so much meaning to it, and it's always very poetic and rife with imagery. I love it.

I think Saul Williams has got to be one of the best poets/rappers ever. His use of metaphor and word play are phenomenal.

NiggyTardust: Grippo King, philosopher, and artist.
Downright to the marrow, he’s the arrow through the heartless.
Sunlight in the afternoon, his shadow travels furthest.
Woven through the heart of doom, he’s bursting through the surface.
Hardly nervous, suffice to say, he understands his purpose:
Threshold King of everything, a comical absurdist.
Sometimes when he talks he sings, yet keeps his high notes wordless.
Sing along when Niggy sings. Without you he’d be worthless,
Homeless, Earth-less. Venus Hottentot, up in the circus.
Freak Show! Here him speak so properly, ‘cause every word is
measured against meaning. Probably scheming to unlearn us.
Don’t you call him by his name! White people call him ‘Curtis’.

Alice Cooper.

So corny but so excellent

Trash era Alice Cooper that'd be though.

Eloquent, much?

"We ain't got no principles
We can't even think of a line to rhyme"

Lyrical genius

I love David Bowie, Steve Harley and Brian Molko. There's also people like Norman Whitfield and Barratt Strong who've written many songs I love. Ooh, and Cat Stevens.

Fuck it.

Wrong. Bob Dylan wrote "All Along the Watchtower", which Hendrix covered. Billy Roberts wrote "Hey Joe".

John Myung. Every song he has written lyrics for has been my favorite song on its respective album (Learning To Live, Lifting Shadows off A Dream, Trial of Tears, Fatal Tragedy, Breaking All Illusions). Granted it's only 5 songs compared to what everyone else in the band has written, but those are some of their best songs
