Orange.

One of the main reasons is because I live next to a local Humbucker Music store, the store chain which is the biggest Orange Amps dealer in the nation, and I love the gain on it. It can have excellent, crunchy gain, yet still retain that classic feel. At least, that's how I view those amps.

Orange amps aren't really appreciated much though

EDIT: To be specific I'd probably go with the Orange Rockerverb 50 Combo:

My style is mostly metal, hardcore, and nu-metal

If I had 3 grand to spend on an amp I would probably get 2 different ones. One for cleans and one for distortion. I mostly play rock but dabble in pretty well everything so I really like versatility. I would probably go for an ac-30 or a fender and maybe a mesa or a marshall.

If I had $3k to spend I sure as hell wouldn't buy one of those

I'd buy a Henriksen JazzAmp (~$700) and then a decent handwired little AC30-inspired 2x12.

i say fender, i play classic rock, punk, grunge, new wave/alternative stuff, with a distortion/overdrive pedal (and sometimes without) a fender can pretty much do anything i need.
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

Something that can get that plexi like crunchy kind of overdrive.

I would spend half of my money of an american deluxe strat or a tele, but a bunch of pedals and then buy a traynor ycv50, its amazing

Some sort of Hiwatt, or a VOX AC30.

The Peavey classic 30 is a hell of an amp at a hell of a price. Used to have one 15 years ago. Sold it. Hate myself.
