firstly thanks to all those who helped with the pedal choosing for my sis we are going out this weekend to get a danelectro flange.

now to buisness

basically im building up my rig atm and want an overdrive or fuzz pedal. i play mainly blues and rock occasionally metallica but not important.

i use a vox valvetronix which i hope to upgrade soon(ish) to a tube amp but till then it is good.

i have narrowed it down to these pedals

-EHX little big uff
-digitech bad monkey
-digitech blues screamer
-marshall bluesbreaker
-boss od/distortion

not so muc the boss one but anyway i have a poll up for u to vote but i want ur opinions aswell, cheers forthe help

IF you want a modern fuzz sound, the little big muff would be nice. A lighter fuzz sound might be acheived better by a double muff. I hear it is more like an overdrive with some fuzz to it. I really want to try one out but there isn't one in stock around here anywhere.

Get a modded boss DS-1 maybe.

You really should put the money away for a new amp. An overdrive would be perfect for you if you had a tube amp, but they don't work well w/ solid state ones.

The muff isn't the best pedal for your style. LIke acdcrocks said its more for a heavier modern sound.

Why no Boss Blues Driver??

That's what you should get.
HEY
Do you like anime/manga?
PM me about buying the graphic novels I'm trying to sell

I suggest Tubescreamer. A Maxon TS9, or even better, a modded TS9.

Boss Blues Driver is also really good. I have a modded one with me, along with a modded TS9DX in my rig right now.

As has been stated, all the pedals mentioned will sound great through a tube amp but not so good (in fact some will sound really bad) through the amp you have.

That said, you should be able to dial that sort of sound into the Valvetronix. Save the money and put it toward your new amp.

If you mean the Marshall Bluesbreaker: YES!

If you mean the Marshall Bluesbreaker II: try a Bad Monkey instead.

Don't expect it to do miracles with your current amp, though.

so new amp is the way to go atm? cheers, well then, the amp hunt is n

What is a Blues Screamer? (Tubescreamer+Blues Driver?).

Not a huge fan of Boss, but the Boss Blues Driver is really good and surprisingly versatile. Go for that or maybe a Boss OS-2 or a Digitech Bad Monkey.
