As you know it is tax season and Uncle sam is being quite generous to me this year, and of course I wanna blow that cash on some new gear. The current gear is listed in the sig. What I was thinking about was either adding a Dean Cadillac 1980 with a blueburst finish to my collection, or ditch the marshall and do a massive upgrade to the Peavey XXX half stack which I love. Your thoughts?

I also thought maybe get the head of the XXX, keep the marshall cab, and get the Cadillac too, but the Marshall cab is so muddy! Maybe the xxx would make it better I don't know

the celestions won't be muddy like the ones in my avt cab will they?

For that....i would honestly pick the 6505 over a XXX.
Celestion V30's are good for metal Lots of people recommend them around here for high-gain stuff because of their tight low end and their liking to get aggressive sounding when the volume is cranked up.

They are specially made for the AVT, so you cannot go out and buy some. You wouldn't want to anyway. Basically any speaker you pick to put in an avatar will be better than the ones you have now. I think your cab is rated at 200W, so you have 50W in there, but if you drive them they get muddy. I have 25W speakers in my cabinet and it's really really hard to get the muddy. You have to scoop the mids and have a lot of bass to get them muddy.

Ya avatar cabs are really nice the celestions are great and of high grade, take a look around at them. I also Recommend a 6505 Highly, I love mine and it sounds just like a 5150. So that and an avatar cab will sound great. you'll love it. I recommend Vintage 30's in your avatar cab btw. But most celestions will do.
