I started finger picking a while ago and something bad has been happening. The strings are wearing down my first finger because I often use it to strum. So my question is, is there anything I can put on my nail to keep this from happeing?? Like something to make it stronger or something like that?

I was told to use nail strengthener, apparently it's like nail polish except without the colour

They have finger picks. Try those?

I'm trying to get calouses on my picking hand, so I wouldn't want to use those. I do have some though
