I've had a couple people tell me that Obama refuses to pledge allegiance to the U.S flag or something and that he is some Muslim extremist. Is this true a little bit, or farfetched quite a bit, or not true at all, or completely true, or what? If it is true, why would anyone want a president who refuses to even pledge allegiance?

I'm not trying to attack Obama or anything, I just want to know if what these people are telling me is true, Thx.

Hes not a Muslim to begin with. and, if hes not saying the pledge its because he realizes that not only is it outdated but to "pledge" to your country each day is a ****ing ridiculous concept

He's a Christian...Plus I think if he was a Muslim Extremist, he'd have been killed off a long time ago.

Barack is Baptist, not Muslim, but I've never heard that he refused to say the pledge of allegiance. Somehow, I kinda doubt that's true, granted I don't know for sure. Besides, I believe that when you become a Senator, you have to take an oath to defend the Constitution and so forth. In my mind, that's probably as good as the pledge.

The thing about the flag is because he didn't wear a flag pin on his lapel to a debate when all the other candidates did. Of course, he's painted as unpatriotic and people just start making **** up. He's never refused to pledge allegiane to the flag, although I would give him much more respect if he did.

He is by no means a "Muslim extremist". He was raised Muslim for a very small portion of his life, and is now a practicing Christian.

He was sworn in with a bible. Whoever says he's muslim is dense.

sorry TS but you're not very smart. Dont believe everything that you breathe.

Im pretty sure hes some form of christinanity

And the only reason people say he wont say the pledge is because there's pictures of him not covering his heart during the NATIONAL ANTHEM not the pledge of alleigience. Its not custom to hold your hand over your heart during the natinal anthem.

The flag fuss was in the summer. Some other candidate brought up he wasn't wearing an American flag pin blah blah blah. he justly explained he couldn't wear it because of the state of the country/government or something to that effect and i do not blame him for not wearing the pin, he was making a statement is all.

Once again I had just heard some rumors and needed to get them cleared up, on the other hand, you need to learn some basic spelling and grammar.

Outdated? True it was written 200 years ago, but the ideals our founding fathers wrote into the constitution and the pledge are meant to last.

And the fact of pledging to your country everyday being ridiculous is just stupid. I wouldn't want to live in a place where everyone hated their country and felt no patriotism.

like I said, in one of the debates he was asked if any of that was true, and he said no

you probably think your so cool with a post like that, but really it makes absolutely no sense. there is no law regarding the religion of a presidential candidate, the only reason why there hasn't been a muslim president, and likely never will be one is because the majority of voting americans simply would not vote for him/her.
also something cannot be "more ****ed up than it is" it can be more ****ed up than you thought it was, or maybe more ****ed up than it was, but "more ****ed up than it is just doesn't make sense.

People always say that, but it isn't really true. Most of the major founding fathers (Washington, Franklin) were Deist, not Christians so it is debatable, and I think not true as to wheter or not this country was founded on Christian beliefs.

Considering a good portion of the founding fathers weren't even christian, you don't know what you are talking about..

Christianity doesn't hold a monopoly on morals and respect.
