Once is a modern-day musical about a busker and an immigrant and their eventful week, as they write, rehearse and record songs that tell their love story

A must-watch for all music lovers! it's one of those films that you have to watch three times in a row, take a rest and watch it again

This movie is really good. It's not really a musical really, it's more of a movie about music. Definitely a movie anyone who hasn't seen it should check out..

It's not really even that, it's about a very complex love story. The main characters just happen to be amateur musicians who express their experiences through their original music. They just marketed it towards the music crowd more than anything, which is still cool, but it's a love story, not a music story. This movie just made it acceptable for dudes to say that they liked it. Otherwise it's a chick flick. Dude just happened to play guitar.

Agreed. Excellent film, though. This and Juno are among my top picks as of late.

If we're talking music films (though more of an avant-garde biopic of a musician), I'm Not There was great. I hope Cate Blanchett wins the Oscar for it. She blew me away.
Sincerely, Chad.

I love music, but hate musicals.

True. I've performed in several musicals at my school as an actor/singer/musician.

I've found that being in the band is more fun since it's not as stressful, but performing in a musical still gives me a great high

it's not really a musical
in musicals, people sing right in with talking to say what the want, and everyone else thinks its normal
in Once, they just sing because theyre musicians.
Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the cake this morning!

yeah, that's an inside joke. i made it different colors and sizes to be obnoxious...
