i was just wondering why that one riff is called the "spider riff"? kinda stupid.

Dave mustaine called it that technique, um, i thought it related more in the fourhorsemen though, um, but it's likely cos of how its played, like a spider walking along..shrug.

Spider fretting is a technique Dave Mustaine came up with.

All it means is you use your index and ring finger for playing power chords on the E and A strings... then when you move to a power chord on the A and D strings you would use your middle and pinky fingers and vice versa.

I think Marty Friedman also used this technique when he was in MD
