I've been playing for about 5 or so months, and I'm wondering, am I progressing like i should??
Some stuff I can do:
-Play all of "The Beast And The Harlot" (w/ solo)
-Play all of "...And Justice For All" (no solo)
-Play all of "One" (with solo/tapping part)
-Sweep pick (only 3-4 strings, and not very good doing descending sweeps)
-Pinch Harmonic
-Play random riffs (Sweet Child O Mine intro, Sunshine Of Your Love main riff)

So, am I progressing good? And, what should I start focusing on next? I know little theory (except what I learned for bass guitar), so maybe learn some theory? And some songs I should try next?
Thanks UG

Post a sound clip as a sample then you can be better judged.

sounds pretty good for only playing 5 months but like others are saying...theory, scales that type of stuff is what you should start learning soon.

You're definition of you being able to 'play' those songs, is very doubtful.

If you can after just 5 months, you must be the fastest learning guitarist ever.

Post some clips to prove it.

Until then, I consider this attention seeking by a n00b. Sorry, but all the time on UG has taught me never to trust posts like your own.

Are you ****ING serious? Beast and the Harlot with solo in 5 months? One WITH SOLO in 5 months?

Man I suck.

No, no he's not serious.

He is lying, and attention seeking and trying to make people call him an amazing guitarist.

So go back to feeling content with your progress. And it's not a competition anyway, play what you enjoy...not what someone else considers impressive.

what's going on in your head and what's coming out of your amp are two very different things.

record your playing and upload to your profile.
