I have a few math questions that i cant figure out. So naturally i came to the pit

First i have to figure out how much the letter is worth

1. 2y(to the power of 2) x 3y(to the power of 2)=405 y=?

2. 9w-w+7w=75 w=?

3. 7c+2c-c=-16 c=?

if u can help, thanks very much

1. y4=67.5 (don't know if this one's right)

2. w=5

3. c=|2| (assuming the equation equalled -16, and you've learned about how pipes equal plus and negative)

TS, is it (2y)^2 and (3y)^2 or 2y^2 and 3y^2?

1. 2y^2 x 3y^2 = (2x3)y^(2+2) = 6y^4 = 405, divide by 6, then take the 4th root

2. 9w - w + 7w = 15w = 75, w = 75/15

3. 7c + 2c - c = 8c = -16, c = -16/8

Dammit Gandalf, you could be right...

I assumed it was 2y^2 * 3y^2

didn't consider if there were parentheses...

If there aren't, though, then I'm right.

and showing the roundabout way of exactly all I did for him will help... how?
