hey guys, i have a jackson with a licensed floyd rose, i had my guitat with all the strings off, and i wedged the rose up with the 9 volt battery in the back, while i was working on it the battery worked itself out, and the rose smacked down. Are these pretty durable or do you think i caused some damage? thanks
Careful you don't knock it off the knife edges.
what do you mean the knife edges?
Make sure you support the trem by the battery as soon as possible. If the trems knife edges get misaligned off the trem posts, then its a hassle.
allright i see what you mean, ya as soon as it smacked down i got it propped right back up, i just wanted to see if you guys would think anything would crack?
No, nothing should happen like that. Did it go up smoothly when you put it back up?
yeah, everything moves smoothly, i have another question for ya, the very first time i changed the strings, i took them all off, and then added them one by one back one, obviously putting a lot of tension on a single string, and one side of the rose. Could this cause problems. I have since learned better, but that was my first time restringing with a rose
Dont bother, just take em off all at once, and restring. Make sure the 9 volt battery is supporting it though.
isn't it much easier if you replace the strings one by one?...
No, Then you Cant clean the fretboard, tighten stuff up, clean the trem.isn't it much easier if you replace the strings one by one?...
well, enjoy it your way then...
