This band needs so much more exposure, one of the greatest heavy metal bands ever

Of course I know Brocas Helm. Great speed/thrashy power metal. I'm suprised they aren't better known, they're better than most early power metal bands, but power metal is a lot more proggy lately so this sound is less popular.

Still, fans of Iron Maiden and Helloween etc. should check them out.

SING FOR THE GLORY! DREAMS OF YESTERDAY!

I decided pretty long time ago that one day I'm gonna cover Drink The Blood Of The Priest with epic choirs and stuff

Missing this bands show in London was one of the most gutting things ever.

^Awesome! One of my favourite Thin Lizzy tunes

and goddamn some of their songs sound heavy on Defender Of The Crown, especially check out Never Kissed Goodbye, that guitar tone is so delicious and then the pounding bass drum kicks so much ass

They wouldn't come to Ireland. But if they played a festival in a country like Germany, Wacken, I'd probably go in the next couple of years.

I've been brushing up on necromancy, so why not...

God damn it what a band!

Seriously one of the greatest acts ever. It still astonishes me that a band of such quality remains under the radar while much lesser acts are grabbing label attention. Every album is a classic. Defenders of the Crown is easily one of the best "comeback" records ever recorded.

Anyone else got that picture LP of Into Battle then?

You really should, but you;re going to have an annoying time finding CD's. Brocas Helm CD's are fairly hard to come by.

First time I heard this band.

They're pretty cool. Way better than any power/speed band I've heard.
Dyer's Eve is awesome, and has an abnormally large penis, which doesn't act as any hinderance to his everyday life despite its freakishly large size.

Just a heads up. Century Media has Black Death currently in stock. Was it just reissued maybe?

And I keep listening to random songs from these guys on Youtube and I'm repeatedly blown away. Sick guitar work.

Reissued by Eat Metal in 2005 - theyre the versions of the first 2 that I have. Its safe to say that Dark Rider is the greatest metal anthem ever written!!

they're on brutal legend

everybody loves it

need tabs!!!

I didn't know that this game was out. So awesome to see Brocas Helm exposed to a mainstream audience.
#25
I see it as kind of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you get to introduce great bands like Slough Feg to people that might not have otherwise heard of them. On the other hand, now we'll get a bunch of people who's entire basis of metal is based on the content of Brutal Legend, much like Dethklok before it. We'll see how it all pans out.
#26
But the entire basis of metal is based on Brocas Helm, Coroner, Riot, Omen, Savatage, Metal Church, etc.
#27
True that. But I still hate the idea of 13 year-old kids going out and pretending to like metal because it's the cool thing to do.
#28
Never heard this band before last week, when my friend was playing Brutal Legend.

Loved what I heard. I hate that it took me listening in on a video game to find them, but I thoroughly loved the songs on the game.

Cry of the Banshee is one of my favorite songs ever. Their inclusion in Brutal Legend might make me buy it xD

Edit: Wait dawgs, Slough Feg are also on Brutal Legend? Hmmmm... Also, I must agree with whoever said we need Brocas Helm tabs. Too epic not to tab!

I've played through Brutal Legend. I wouldn't recommend buying it, I beat it in about 7 hours. A rental would be a better idea. Pretty fun though, and riding around hearing Drink the Blood of the Priest is pretty awesome.

For some reason, Defender of the Crown reminds me of Slough Feg, anyone else get that vibe?

Of course, but Slough Feg sounds nearly the same as Brocas Helm in the first place...

Power, what band do you like more: Nun's Laughter or Doom's Word?

No, I just wanted to make a witty question using two plays on words. I thought I struck comedic gold with it but apparantly I failed.

I can't believe how much exposure this band has gotten. My friend just ****ing asked me if I listen to them.

Holy shit.

There's even a tab for Cry of the Banshee now! Can't complain about that
