Is there an advantage to having rack gear ?
It just seems so much more expensive.
I know heaps of pros use huge rack, but does it actually have an advantage over pedals ?

if you tried to play without a rig you'd be playing air guitar. i think you mean racks. i think they're just higher quality sound, more tonal options, more changeable parameters, more looping options things like that.

Rack Gear, just come back from a 2 week holiday and I'm not thinking straight.

So is there any advantage of using rack gear over pedals ?

i suppose you're talking about rackmount equipment. well, mostly because rackmount units are generaly of a better quality (reverb units especialy). also, the rackmount units are built stronger (and they're protected by the rack itself). and most of them can be controlled by midi.

thats mainly why pro's use them

Theres more room to shape the sound your after with rack gear, as you need a pre & power amp to go with the cab to get the sound you want.

Theres more power in the effects units than what single pedals can do.

Is there any black people on UG?
I don't think a lot of black people play guitar anymore.

So just effects wise the G major would be better then say a pod x3 or a GT8 ?
The G major is the one in the middle right ?
I know theres 3 products, I'm talking about the one priced in between.
So just talking pure effects here, I can buy something else for distortion if needed.
