so yeah, i play their songs with a Boss MD-2
trying to get the bitchin boost on the lows
and still i can't really aproach to their sound
any ideas why? is it the pedal?
I play an Ibanez MTM1, thru a Marshall amp

Threw a Marshall amp doesn't really help. If tis an MG, it could be part of the issue. Likewise, the MD-2 aren't too conductive to low end in my experience. Try a Metal Core instead, as they have a heavily scooped sound.

Boss Metalcore or Metal Muff.. or digitech death metal.. cant get more distortion than digitech death metal or boss metalcore.

uhh a better amp might help. Mesa road king? Randall solid state? Tube amp?

also youll need high output humbuckers. EMG's or duncans or dimarzios.

those only matter if hes got a tube amp, which he doesnt.
The best bet is a metal muff, or one of the other pedals he mentioned.

What sort of cannibal corpse sound are you trying to get?

Butchered at Birth era stuff is very scooped mids, sounds solid state and you could do it with a Digitech Death metal.

For their newer stuff you probably need a nice amp.
A metal band?

my rig pulls off cannibal corpse freakin' awesome. then I found out that they used the same head in the "gallery of suicide" days - hehe

yeah - like people said, marshall and boss distortion is too much treble. All the pedal recommendations I think are good safe bets.

I believe CC have used Mesa Dual and Triple Rectifiers, and a Crate Blue Voodoo at some point (thread on CC awhile back and someone mentioned the Blue Voodoo). I'm not 100% on this, seeing as i really don't listen to CC that much. I'm more of a Carcass guy. X-p
