Not long ago Fender made a new strat called a "VG Stratocaster"
It can change the tuning on the guitar with a flick of a knob with out turning the tuning knobs, it can have a strat, tele, humbucker, acoustic tone.
It needs no extra programs and stuff, just a cord and a amp and 4 AA batteries

What are your thoughts on this guitar?

My only downside is that it is ridicuasly expensive, $3000 AU

It actually looks pretty simple, more simple than the robot guitar

I like the more tone possibilitys and not muck around with the tuning much

Big picture of it here

And the knobs (T knob for tuning, M knob for tones)

I don't have anything to argue because i have never held one

its suppose to be regular stratocaster but it has a little pickup like devise near the bridge. i think its pretty cool that you can change the tunings by just turning the knobs, it will probably be my first fender once the price goes down a bit.

I played one against a Variax 700 for several hours. It lost.

This is a whole lot older than "not long ago."

At any rate, the guitar's a little too crowded for me. I don't have a thing for simplicity, but this is a bit much, IMO.
Dimebag is overrated. Sue me.
